The round of public meetings and rallies for assembly elections in Rajasthan concluded on Thursday. Candidates will now go door to door to appeal to voters. Out of total 200 assembly seats in Rajasthan, 199 seats will go to polls on November 25. There are 5,25,38,105 voters and 1863 candidates in these seats. Election campaigning for the assembly elections 2023 closed at 6 pm on Thursday, an election department official said. Voting will be held on Saturday from 7 am to 6 pm.

According to the rules, no public meeting or procession will be held regarding the election. Now, before the voting, nothing related to the election can be broadcast to the public through television or any other medium. Chief Electoral Officer Praveen Gupta said that anyone who violates these provisions will be punished with imprisonment of up to two years or fine or both. The Election Commission has directed that no political person, who is not a voter or a candidate or who is not an MP or MLA of that constituency, cannot remain in that constituency after the election campaign is over.
The main contest in the state is believed to be between the ruling Congress and the main opposition Bharatiya Janata Party. The Congress focused its election campaign on the works of the Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot government, its plans and programmes. The Congress has announced seven ambitious schemes in the manifesto, while the BJP has been attacking the Congress on issues like crime, appeasement, corruption and paper leaks in the state.
Party president Mallikarjun Kharge, party leader Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and other leaders addressed several election rallies on behalf of the Congress. Prime Minister Narendra Modi took the reins of BJP’s campaign. He held public meetings in several places in the last several days. He also held road shows in Bikaner and Jaipur. Similarly, BJP President JP Nadda, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Union Ministers Smriti Irani and Rajnath Singh also held public meetings at many places. . There are 200 assembly seats in the state but due to the death of Congress candidate Gurmeet Singh Kunnar from Karanpur seat, 199 seats will go to polls.
