Sashilal K. Before the release of the Nair-directed film ‘Ek Chhoti Si Love Story’, Manisha Koirala filed a court case to ban some of the scenes in the film, which she found objectionable. According to media reports, the court has ordered a stay on the film’s release. The actress claimed that some scenes were shot with her body double.

The makers of ‘Ek Chhoti Si Love Story’ in their clarification said that 95 prints of the film have been sent to exhibitors across the country, some of which have been sent for screening abroad, so it is difficult to get the prints back. And exhibitors can show the film. Despite a court ban, the film was released in a few theaters on 6 September 2002.

The Bombay High Court dismissed Manisha Koirala’s appeal against the release of the film during a rehearing of the case. Finally, ‘Ek Chhoti Si Love Story’ was released nationwide on 22 November 2002. The film benefited from controversy at the box office and the 1.5 crore film earned Rs 7.60 crore at the box office.
