G20 Summit: US President Joe Biden to visit India on September 7, meet PM Modi twice

A statement issued by the White House said that President Joe Biden will arrive in India on September 7, two days before the start of the G-20 Summit. His visit will last for four days. The special thing is that Biden will not participate in the ASEAN Summit to be held in Indonesia. Vice President Kamala Harris will attend ASEAN instead of Biden.

Capacity building of the World Bank will be discussed
According to the report of the news agency ‘AFP’, White House National Security Adviser Jack Sullivan gave this information in a briefing on Tuesday (August 22). During Biden’s visit, capacity building of multilateral development banks, including the World Bank, to better fight poverty will also be discussed, the official said.

White House press secretary Carine Jean-Pierre said President Biden and G20 partners will discuss how to deal with global issues. These include clean energy, tackling climate change and mitigating the economic and social impacts of the conflict in Ukraine.

Apart from trade and defence, some important agreements related to cyber security may be signed between India and the US during the G-20 summit. The G20 summit will be held in America in 2026. Prime Minister Modi will hand over the presidency to President Biden.

Let it be known that PM Modi paid an official visit to America in June. This visit was significant in many ways. Several agreements related to jet engines, drone procurement, space missions and chip manufacturing in India were signed between the two countries.

Besides US President Joe Biden, the summit will be attended by several heads of state and diplomats, including Chinese Prime Minister Xi Jinping, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and French President Emmanuel Macron.
