The World Cup will be held in India from October 5
ICC has already rescheduled the schedule of 9 matches
New Delhi. The Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) had said it was difficult due to organizational and security reasons to hold two matches on back-to-back days during the ODI World Cup starting October 5 in India, but BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla said the schedule and changes were not possible. .
After a long delay, the schedule of the World Cup was announced in June this year. The Board of Cricket in India (BCCI) and the ICC (ICC) earlier this month changed the schedule of nine matches, including the big match between India and Pakistan. A match between India and Pakistan was scheduled a day earlier on October 14. Apart from this, Pakistan’s match against Sri Lanka in Hyderabad was shifted to October 10 instead of October 12. HCA is also hosting the New Zealand vs Netherlands match earlier on October 9.

‘We have to work with security agencies’
Hyderabad Police has objected to providing security for two consecutive matches. An HCA official said on the condition of confidentiality, ‘I can’t say that it will be changed for sure, but hosting two matches in two days is not an ideal situation. I mean it would be good if they (BCCI) reconsider. We have to work with security agencies.
He said, ‘One needs a day’s time between two World Cup matches. We are still communicating with the security agencies whether it is possible or not. Along with this we are also informing the BCCI about this. BCCI is fully aware of what we are trying to do.
‘I am in charge of Hyderabad’s venue for the World Cup’
However, Shukla said in an official statement that further changes are not possible as it involves all stakeholders. He said, ‘I am in charge of the Hyderabad venue for the World Cup. If there is any problem we will try to solve it. Changing the schedule of the World Cup is not easy and it is not possible. BCCI alone cannot change the schedule. Teams and the ICC also get involved.
Security is expected to be beefed up at the Pakistan match
Hyderabad Police recruits two to two and a half thousand police personnel for any international match. The official said, ‘Police deployment depends on match-related risk assessment and the number of spectators. Police assess and deploy accordingly. Security is expected to be beefed up in view of Pakistan’s participation in one of these matches.
The Pakistan team will begin their campaign in Hyderabad on October 6
Pakistan team will play in India for the first time since 2016 T20 World Cup. The team will have a long stay in Hyderabad as it has to play two World Cup matches as well as two warm-up matches at the venue. The team will begin their World Cup campaign against the Netherlands on October 6 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. Tickets for the World Cup go on sale from August 25, giving most cricket fans plenty of time to plan their trip.
