Vehicle manufacturer Honda Cars India plans to introduce five sports utility vehicles (SUVs) in the country by 2030. It wants to strengthen its presence in this fast growing segment. A wholly-owned subsidiary of Japan’s leading Honda Motor Company on Monday said the company has entered the mid-size SUV segment with the new car ‘Elevate’, priced at Rs. 10.99-15.99 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi).

The model will compete with other cars like Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Kia Seltos and Toyota’s Urban Cruiser Hayrider.
Honda Cars India President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Takuya Tsumura said, “Our focus is now on the SUV segment. Starting with the Elevate, we will bring five SUVs by 2030. He said that it is very important for the company to stay in the SUV segment, which has become the leader in terms of sales.
Hero MotoCorp’s total sales rose six percent in August
Hero MotoCorp, the country’s leading two-wheeler company, reported a six per cent increase in total sales to 4,88,717 units in August. In a stock market filing on Friday, the company said it had sold 4,62,608 units in the same period a year ago.
Hero MotoCorp’s domestic sales last month rose five percent to 4,72,947 units from 4,50,740 units in August 2022. Exports increased to 15,770 units from 11,868 units in the same period last year. “The festive season is likely to increase consumer demand,” the company said. A good monsoon and good agricultural conditions in most parts of the country are also expected to contribute to increased consumer demand.
