Kathmandu. At least eight people were killed when a bus full of passengers en route to Beni Parbat from Nepal’s capital Kathmandu to Pokhara plunged into the Trishuli river near Gujri area. A bus accident took place on Prithvi Highway around 11 am on Wednesday in Gajuri Rural Municipality Ward No. 2 of Dhading. According to Dhadinga Deputy Superintendent of Police Santulal Prasad Jaiswar, six men and two women have died.
The bus met with an accident late in the morning near Gajuri Rural Municipality. 8 people have been confirmed dead while 19 people have been injured. Dhading police chief SP Gautam Mishra said that the search operation is going on. The bus went off the road near Gajuri falls and fell into Trishuli river. Gajuri Rural Municipality Vice President Sharmila Bisural said that half of the bus was submerged in water.
The Armed Police Force is searching for the missing passengers by searching for divers. 81 personnel have been deployed at the spot along with other security agencies led by Senior Superintendent of Armed Forces Manish Thapko. According to Superintendent Manish Thapa, bus number 3-01-005 B 9952 met with an accident at 11:45 am on Wednesday.
According to the police, 13 of the injured have been sent to Kathmandu for further treatment. According to the police, rescue work has become difficult as the accident bus is in the open. District Police Office, Dhadingal informed that no one is missing in the river, though rescue and search operations are on.
