Washington: Indian American Vivek Ramaswamy, who is in the race to become the Republican candidate in the US presidential election, said on Sunday that he hopes to be his party’s candidate in the November 2024 general election. Ramaswamy told ‘ABC News’, ‘If Donald Trump becomes the party’s nominee – yes, I will support him. This is the first thing to take the country forward.

Notably, Ramaswamy’s popularity has increased following his impressive performance in the initial Republican ‘Primary Presidential Debate’ last month. He is competing with another Indian American, Nikki Haley, a former governor of South Carolina. Ramaswamy is the only Republican candidate who has openly endorsed Trump for president.

“My bottom line is I’m going to vote for the person who I think is in the best position to take this country forward,” he said. I don’t think it’s Joe Biden. I don’t think it’s another puppet, Kamala Harris or anyone else, that they’re going to bring forward after Joe Biden.
