Appearing on a ‘talk show’ on Sunday, the 38-year-old Indian American entrepreneur said that if he is elected US President, he will pardon Trump. Former President Trump is currently facing several legal challenges. Ramaswamy told ABC News, “If Donald Trump becomes the party’s nominee — yes, I will support him. If I become president, I will forgive him, because it will help unify the country, but “that’s not the most important thing that I’m going to be next. will do as President. It is a stepping stone to take the country forward.”
Ramaswamy’s rise in popularity
Ramaswamy’s popularity has soared after an impressive performance in the initial Republican ‘Primary Presidential Debate’ last month. He is competing with another Indian American, Nikki Haley, a former governor of South Carolina. Ramaswamy is the only Republican candidate who has openly endorsed Trump for president.
“I don’t think he’s just another puppet…”
“My basic point is that I will vote for the person who I think is in the best position to take this country forward,” Ramaswamy said. I don’t think it’s Joe Biden. I don’t think it’s another puppet, Kamala Harris or anyone else, that they’re going to bring out after Joe Biden.”
