Arshdeep Singh, the left-arm fast bowler of the Indian team, has made a distinct identity for himself in a short time. He has left his mark many times in the death overs. However, despite being in good rhythm, Arshdeep sometimes strays off course. Something similar happened in the first T20 match against Ireland. He took 1/35 in 4 overs against Ireland. During this he bowled one no-ball and three wides. Arshdeep scored 22 runs in the 20th over, helping Ireland to a respectable score of 139/7. At the same time, India won a rain-affected match by 2 runs under the Duckworth-Lewis method.
Arshdeep made two embarrassing records in this one match. He became the highest Indian player to score 20 or more runs in the 20th over of a T20 International match. He has done so twice so far in his short career. Deepak Chahar, Suresh Raina, Khalil Ahmed, Ravindra Jadeja, Akshar Patel, Yusuf Pathan, Shivam Mavi and Shardul Thakur scored 20 or more runs in the last over.
Bumrah makes unique history as T20I captain, joins Dhoni and Sehwag’s formidable club
Apart from this, Arshdeep tops the list of Indian bowlers who have bowled the most no-balls. He is the only Indian to bowl 15 or more no-balls. He has taken 16 no-balls so far. Jasprit Bumrah (8), the dashing fast bowler and India’s skipper on the tour of Ireland, is second and leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal is third. Talking about the overall list, Arshdeep is at the third position. In this list, South Africa’s Morne Morkel (19) is at number one while former Australian fast bowler Brett Lee (17) is at number two.
