New Delhi:
China recently released the 2023 edition of the ‘Standard Map of China’, in which it has shown Arunachal Pradesh and Aksai China as part of it. India has strongly opposed this. Calling it an old habit of China, External Affairs Minister Jaishankar Prasad said that just making absurd claims does not make other people’s territories your own. After India’s jaw-dropping response, China has reacted. China described it as a “normal exercise of sovereignty in accordance with law”.

Making a frivolous claim does not mean that someone else’s territories will become yours.
