BRO’s entire focus is on ongoing projects in Ladakh and Arunachal Pradesh.

The head of the Border Road Organization (BRO), which develops and maintains the road network in India’s border areas, has said that India will be ahead of China in developing infrastructure along the borders. Lt Gen Rajeev Chaudhary was talking about the ongoing projects in Ladakh and Arunachal Pradesh. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh announced in 10 border states and union territories Rs. The remarks came almost a week before the BRO inaugurated 90 infrastructure projects constructed at a cost of Rs 2,941 crore.

The projects Rajnath Singh will inaugurate include 22 roads, 63 bridges, a tunnel in Arunachal Pradesh and two strategic airfields. An army official said, “It is a great moment for the nation that so many projects are being built on the border areas and it is strengthening the security measures of our forces so that they can be deployed as far as possible and if any serious. If a situation arises, we can handle it.” The Defense Minister will also lay the foundation stone (e-foundation) of an airfield at Nyoma in eastern Ladakh. It will be developed at a cost of 218 crores. Situated at an altitude of 13,400 feet, Nyoma is about 46 kilometers from the Line of Actual Control (LAC) with China.
