India beat Australia by two wickets in the first T20 match of the five-match T20 series. The win was not an easy one for India as the team had the most successful chase in the history of T20 cricket. But the Indian team led by Suryakumar Yadav has registered their name in the record books by achieving the target of 209 runs in the last over. The Indian team became the first team to achieve the most wins in T20 Internationals while chasing a score of 200 or more.
Batting first, Australia scored 208 for 3 in 20 overs, aided by a century from Josh Inglis. In reply, India won by 2 wickets thanks to Suryakumar Yadav’s 80 runs, Ishan Kishan’s 58 runs and Rinku Singh’s 22 runs. This is India’s biggest win while chasing the target. India had earlier achieved West Indies’ target of 208 runs in 2019. India had earlier defeated Sri Lanka by 207 runs in 2009 and New Zealand by 204 runs in 2020 and then Australia by 202 runs in 2013.
Team India has topped the list of successful chases of 200 or more runs in T20 Internationals. The Indian team managed to successfully chase more than 200 runs for the fifth time. The team broke the South African record. Africa has achieved this feat 4 times.
