New Delhi. Yuzvendra Chahal once again failed to make a place in the Indian squad for the World Cup. Meanwhile, former Sri Lankan spinner Muttiah Muralitharan believes that it will be enough to have two spinners in India’s playing XI in the World Cup. Three left-arm spinners Ravindra Jadeja, Akshar Patel and wrist-spinner Kuldeep Yadav have been included in Team India’s World Cup squad. Many Indian legends including Harbhajan Singh have questioned the selectors for not including leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal in the squad. Muralitharan said that Joe Chahal is not playing domestic cricket. So how do you fit him into the team? 7 batsmen, 4 all-rounders and 4 bowlers have been included in the 15-member squad selected for the ICC tournament led by Rohit Sharma. Jadeja and Akshar have been included as all-rounders. Muralidharan has taken more than 1300 wickets in international cricket.
While talking to news agency PTI, Muttiah Muralitharan said, you cannot play 3 spinners just for the sake of combination. You can field only 2 spinners. Ravindra Jadeja will play as an all-rounder. Along with it, another spinner will get a chance in the playing-11. Muralitharan, who is the highest wicket-taker in Test cricket with 800 wickets, feels that it would be best to keep Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav in the playing-11. That said you have to see what the right combination is. If Indian team plays with Jadeja and Kuldeep then it can be a good combination.
T20 and ODI formats are completely different
There has been a lot of talk about not keeping Yuzvendra Chahal in the squad, but Muttiah Muralitharan called it the right decision and said that Kuldeep Yadav and Axar Patel are in good form. He said that I have no information about the current form of R Ashwin and Chahal. You can’t judge someone by T20 form. Because T20 and ODI are 2 different formats. You also have to see that Kuldeep and Akshar have performed better than Chahal. Muralidharan said I have no problem with having an experienced player, but is Chahal playing domestic cricket? If not, how can you choose them?
Virat can play for 5 more years
Muttiah Muralitharan also said that Indian batsmen Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma still have a lot of cricket left in them. He said that Kohli and Rohit are two of India’s best players and they can play for a few more years. Why are you saying this is his last tournament. Muralidharan said that Virat is only 34 years old and can play international cricket for next 5 years. Rohit is 36 years old. We cannot say that both of them are at the end of their careers. Let them decide if they have enough cricket left in them.
Asian teams have an edge
Muttiah Muralitharan believes that Asian teams will benefit from favorable conditions at the World Cup compared to the last two-time champions Australia and England. He said that in our condition Asian teams are better than these two teams. Circumstances matter. You are not playing in England or New Zealand but in India. Asian countries will have a good chance to win the title.

The veteran spinner said that every team has its own weak and strong side. No one can predict the World Cup. All the teams are good but if you ask India will have a better chance of winning the title due to playing in their home conditions.
