Read on the application
A Public Interest Litigation filed by an association of Jharkhand CTET (CTET) pass candidates was heard on Friday. The High Court reserved judgment after hearing the arguments of all the parties. During the hearing in a division bench of Chief Justice Sanjay Kumar Mishra and Justice Anand Sen, it was submitted on behalf of the petitioner that the Jharkhand government has not conducted the TET (JTET) examination since the year 2016, but has conducted the teacher recruitment examination. Started in the state, applications are being invited for this, so CTET pass candidates should also be allowed to participate in teacher recruitment or Jharkhand government should conduct CTET exam. The court was also told on behalf of the petitioner that NCTE’s guidelines dated August 23, 2010 provide that if the state government does not conduct the TET examination, candidates who have passed the TET examination from another state. OR CTET from Central Govt will be considered for appointment. In the petition, the petitioner has requested the court to order the state government to conduct the JET examination soon.
The petitioner has said in the application that the JET examination is not being conducted in Jharkhand for the last seven years. The petitioner has prayed that CTET should be recognized in Jharkhand like JET, as the state government has failed to conduct JET. In such a situation the age limit of CTET pass candidates is also gradually ending.
