New Delhi. Construction of BAPS Swaminarayan Akshardham in Robbinsville, New Jersey has been completed. Kalash Puja was performed in the temple after the construction was completed. This auspicious event took place in the presence of Mahant Swami Maharaj of BAPS. On the occasion of this great festival, the entire complex was thronged with devotees.

This temple was completed in 12 years. Volunteers have collectively contributed millions of hours to this production. This temple has been constructed as per the wish of Pramuchswami Maharaj. His desire was to create a place where one could feel peace and find inspiration. BAPS Swaminarayan Akshardham is a confluence of Hindu art, architecture and culture.

Kalash Puja is an essential tradition in Hindu temples. It is a symbolic sacred urn of nectar, which has great religious significance. The ‘Nidhi Kalash’ at the base of Akshardham was formally consecrated in 2011 by Pramukhswami Maharaj. Today, the largest ‘Amrit Kalash’ representing the peak was consecrated by His Holiness Mahant Swami Maharaj, who performed puja. A total of 18 Kalashas were consecrated amidst the chanting of Vedic mantras in a spiritual atmosphere.
Param Pujya Mahant Swami Maharaj shares with deep wisdom that the divine culmination of all efforts is symbolized by the kalash above Akshardham. Remember that Lord Swaminarayan himself stands as our shield.

BAPS Swaminarayan Akshardham will serve as a symbol of peace, unity and selfless service. Regardless of one’s faith and background, Akshardham will inspire everyone to connect with each other and God. During a recent visit, Acharya Ishan Sivananda shared, “As the planets revolve around the Sun, we need a focal point in our lives. Akshardham is a focal point that represents our faith, our people, our culture.
