Ayush Tiwari/Kanpur. On Monday, the sixth day of the UP T-20 League, the first match was played at the Green Park Stadium pitting Kanpur Super Stars against Gorakhpur Lions. Gorakhpur Lions won the toss and invited Kanpur to bat first. Batting first, Kanpur scored 185 runs for the loss of 4 wickets. In reply, Gorakhpur Lions scored only 166 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs. Kanpur Super Stars won by 19 runs and registered their second win in the UP T-20 League. Akshdeep Nath got the man of the match honour.
Kanpur Superstars won by 19 runs
The wicket of Saurabh Dubey (20) fell early on Abdul Rahman of Kanpur Superstars, who came to bat first. But only after hitting four fours, Kanpur scored 46 runs in the powerplay. While Ansh Yadav (48) propelled his innings, Abdul Rahman also took the crucial wicket of the in-form Sameer Rizvi (5). Captain Akshdeep Nath (53) joined Ansh Yadav and the pair added 33 runs from 33 balls, before Ansh Yadav was dismissed for touch just two runs short of his half-century.
Sandeep Tomar (49) came into bat with a score of 91/3 in 12.4 overs. Because Kanpur was far behind Par’s score. Akshdeep Nath and Sandeep Tomar shared 71 runs in 37 balls. When Abdul Rahman returned to the attack in the 19th over to take the wicket of Akshdeep Nath, he completed his half-century soon after. The last over of the innings saw 23 runs, 17 of which were scored by Sandeep Tomar, which saw Kanpur finish at 185 for the loss of 4 wickets.

Chasing Kanpur Superstars’ target of 185 runs, Gorakhpur Lions did not get off to a good start and Ankit Rathi (4) was bowled by Prashant Chaudhary and sent to the pavilion. Then captain Abhishek Goswami and Yashovardhan Singh added 50 runs to the team. The pair was broken by Jashmer Dhankar getting Abhishek Goswami (41) caught by Vineet for 61 runs. However, in an attempt to increase the run rate, Yashovardhan (16) gave away his catch to Ansh Yadav.
He was dismissed by Jashmer Dhankar. Then Sameer Chaudhary and Siddharth Saravan combined to reach 100 runs in 15.2 overs. Gorakhpur’s fourth wicket fell at 105 by Sameer Chaudhary (8), stumped by Vineet’s throw by wicketkeeper Vishal. So, Gorakhpur’s fifth strike was dismissed by Vineet to Shivam Sharma (8), caught by Ansh. Two runs later the sixth wicket of Kartikeya Singh (1) fell, caught by Vineeth to Akshdeep. Meanwhile, Siddharth completed 50 runs in 29 balls with the help of 5 fours and 3 sixes. After the 50th over, Siddharth played some big shots, but he could not help the team win and the entire team could only manage 166 for 6 in 20 overs. Thus, Kanpur Super Stars won the match by 19 runs.
