The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Wednesday announced BookMyShow as the official ticket sales partner for the 2023 World Cup. A total of 58 matches will be played in this tournament including 10 warm-up matches at 12 venues across the country. According to a press release issued by the BCCI, the ticket sale process will be initiated in a “series of carefully managed phases”. The sale of tickets for the matches of all teams except India will start from August 25. Tickets for India’s warm-up matches in Guwahati and Thiruvananthapuram will be available for purchase from August 30. A day later, tickets will be opened for India’s matches in Chennai (vs Australia, October 8), Delhi (vs Afghanistan, October 11) and Pune (vs Bangladesh, October 19).

Fans will be able to buy tickets for the home team’s matches in Dharamshala (vs New Zealand, October 22), Lucknow (vs England, October 29) and Mumbai (vs Sri Lanka, November 2) from September 1. Tickets will be available for the matches to be played on September 2 in Kolkata (vs South Africa, November 5) and Bengaluru (vs Netherlands, November 12).
Finally, tickets for the India vs Pakistan match on October 14 in Ahmedabad will go on sale on September 3. The sale of tickets for the semi-final and final matches will start from September 15. Ticket sales will start at 08:00 IST on the above dates.
Once tickets are booked, fans will be given the option of receiving them by courier or picking them up at a designated location. People who want to get their tickets through courier facility will have to pay Rs 140 extra. Courier options will apply for those who purchase tickets 72 hours prior to the scheduled match. BCCI has informed that e-ticket facility will not be available.
