Mumbai: Many Bollywood films were released in the month of August, which created a buzz among the audience. But, a single film from South proved to be heavy on all these films. The film was the jailer of South superstar Rajinikanth, whose success rocked the box office. Now September has started and Ayushmann Khurrana and Ananya Pandey starrer ‘Dream Girl 2’ was already in theatres, with Vijay Deverakonda and Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s ‘Kushi’ coming to compete. The film released on 1st September, which is getting good response from the audience.
Samantha and Vijay Devarakonda’s latest release has grossed more than Ayushmann Khurrana and Ananya Pandey’s Dream Girl 2 on the first day. Not only this, the film has collected more than 15 crores on its opening day, while Ayushmann’s Dream Girl 2 has collected around 10 crores on its first day. However, it will be interesting to see how much the film manages to collect on the weekend. Because, some films released in the past have grossed a lot on the weekend in August.
According to a report by box office tracker Sachnik, Vijay Devarakonda and Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s film Kushi has collected a whopping 16 crores on the first day. That means once again a storm is brewing from South, which can wrap up many big films of Bollywood. Not only that, talking about the worldwide collection of Kushi, the film has earned more than 52 crores on the first day. While Dream Girl 2 could earn only Rs 10 crore on the first day.
Let us tell you that this will be Vijay Devarakonda’s first success in the last five years, as some of his earlier released films were not well liked. His Bollywood debut in 2022 was also a flop. Vijay Deverakonda made his Bollywood debut with Karan Johar’s Ligar, opposite Ananya Pandey. The film flopped badly at the box office.
