37 out of 41 students have failed in the supplementary examination of the final year MBBS General Surgery Department of KGMU and its six affiliated medical colleges. The aggrieved students have requested the Vice Chancellor to re-evaluate the copies. The students have addressed a letter to the Vice Chancellor regarding this. Before getting affiliation from Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University, many medical colleges of the state were affiliated with KGMU. So, KGMU is organizing the examination of the students who have already got admission. MBBS final year supplementary examination was conducted in June. In which 37 out of 41 students appeared in the General Surgery paper failed.
Students from KGMU, Prayagaraj Medical College, GMC Jalaun, Lohia Institute, GMC Kannauj, Government Medical College Banda attended the supplementary examination. Students have demanded revaluation of copies. He said that such a large number of students cannot fail. Something must have gone wrong in verifying the copy. Medical research section will be compulsory in MBBS
According to the new rules of NMC, Integrated Medical Research Department will now be mandatory for MBBS courses. NMC has added this new department to promote research in medical field. NMC has now made 150 seats compulsory in medical colleges.

Must pass MBBS in maximum 10 years
Till now there was no time limit for passing MBBS first year, so the time limit has been fixed in the new guidelines of NMC. According to the new guidelines, MBBS first year has to be passed in a maximum of 4 years, whereas earlier there was no stipulation of years to pass it. MBBS student has to complete MBBS course in maximum 10 years.
