Amsterdam:
The Netherlands and Denmark will provide long-awaited F-16 aircraft to Ukraine. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has hailed the signing of the F-16 aircraft as historic. After receiving the F-16 planes, there is talk of help from Kiev in a retaliatory attack against Moscow. CNN has given this report on Sunday. The US has allowed the aircraft to be sent to Kiev, allowing Ukrainian pilots to begin training on the fighter jets.

The F-16 is a single-engine multi-role jet aircraft, meaning it can be used in air-to-air or ground attack missions. According to CNN, Kiev is asking its Western allies to urgently provide F-16 jets, as its slow response is being hampered by Russian air superiority.
At a joint press conference with Zelenskiy at Eindhoven airport in the Netherlands, Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte said his country “will remain committed to the delivery of F-16 aircraft to Ukraine after the conditions of such a transfer are met.”
Zelensky called the agreement “historic” and “most important”. CNN quoted Zelenskiy as saying, “The Netherlands became the first country to agree to provide F-16s to Ukraine after training. I am grateful. “And this is just the beginning,” Zelensky said.
At the same time, Zelensky has ruled out any possibility of Ukraine “giving up” territory in exchange for peace. “Ukraine will not exchange territory in a possible peace deal with Russia,” Zelenskyy said at a press conference on Sunday via the Kyiv Independent.
However, even after this agreement, it will be several months before Ukraine is able to use F-16 aircraft.
Earlier on Sunday, the Danish Foreign Ministry in a statement confirmed the agreement to provide the F-16s. It states that the terms of the transfer include the training of Ukrainian personnel, the establishment of infrastructure and logistics, and obtaining the necessary authorizations.
