Washington: There is evidence of dinosaurs on Earth all over the world. Now a shocking case has come up in the state of Texas, USA. More than 70 traces of dinosaurs have been found here due to drought. Palakshi river is exposed due to drying up. These traces were hidden under the river bed. According to media reports, Palksi River is famous for dinosaur related attractions. It flows through Dinosaur Valley State Park, located about 90 minutes south of Dallas.
The traces uncovered here belong to two different dinosaur species. The first is a carnivorous theropod known as Acrocanthosaurus. Another is a herbivorous, long-necked sauropod similar to Brontosaurus, known as Sauroposidon. According to media reports, Acrocanthosaurus was about 15 feet tall and weighed about 7 tons, while the giant Sauroposidon was over 100 feet tall and weighed about 44 tons. Archaeologists who studied them said that three toes are commonly found in theropods.
At the ball room dinosaur track site inside the park, the temperature was a scorching 126 degrees. Experts stressed the importance of clarifying that drought does not reveal completely preserved traces. “The tracks will be covered again by future rains, so new ways are being explored to document them,” Davis said. According to a BBC report, around 60 dinosaur prints were exposed in the Palakshi river in August last year due to drought.
