Johannesburg. Prime Minister Narendra Modi (PM Narendra Modi) has given five proposals while addressing the BRICS Summit organized in Johannesburg, South Africa. He said that these suggestions could prove effective in expanding our close cooperation. He said that significant progress has been made on the issues raised by India to advance the BRICS agenda. Now that India fully supports BRICS expansion, we welcome moving forward with consensus on this. Prime Minister Modi said that there are some suggestions along with this.
Prime Minister Modi said, ‘BRICS has taken a long and wonderful journey in almost two decades. In this journey, we achieved many achievements…’ PM Modi presented 5 important proposals at the BRICS Plenary Session, including establishment of space research organization, cooperation in education and technology, enhancing cooperation in skill mapping, under international Big Cat Alliance cooperation. Enhance cooperation in the field of traditional medicine by creating ‘big cats’ and reserves. Enumerating the achievements of BRICS, he said that this organization has achieved many achievements and is improving people’s lives by bringing positive changes.

PM Modi gave suggestions – cooperation in space and education sector
PM Modi said that to give a new direction to the BRICS agenda, India had floated ideas like railway research network, closer cooperation among MSMEs, online BRICS database, startup forum and significant progress is expected to be made on these topics. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that I would like to make some suggestions to further expand our close cooperation. The first is cooperation in the space sector. We are already working on BRICS satellite constellation.
Ideas on creating a BRICS Space Exploration Consortium
Taking it a step further, we could consider creating a BRICS Space Exploration Consortium. Under this we can work for space research, weather monitoring, global good. Another suggestion is cooperation in education, skill development and technology. We have to prepare our society to make BRICS a future ready organization. Technology will play an important role in this.
