Noted actor Rajinikanth offered prayers at the Hanumangarhi temple in Ayodhya on Sunday. Mahant Raju Das of the Hanumangarhi temple told ‘PTI-Bhasha’, ‘The film actor spent around 10 minutes in the temple.’ Raju Das said, “I thank Rajinikanth ji that till now people were afraid to come to Ayodhya, but today people from different parts of the country, from different professions and from Bollywood are attracted to Ayodhya and Uttar Pradesh.

Earlier in the day, Rajinikanth met Samajwadi Party (SP) president and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav at his residence in Lucknow. A day before this, Rajinikanth also met the Chief Minister of the state, Yogi Adityanath. Speaking to reporters after meeting the SP chief, 72-year-old Rajinikanth said that nine years ago, I met Akhilesh (Yadav) at an event in Mumbai. Since then our friendship has continued and we talk on the phone.
The actor said, “I came here five years ago for a shoot. Akhilesh was not (here) at that time and I could not meet him. He is here now and I have met him.” He also said that his meeting with state Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday went very well. At the same time, Yadav shared pictures of his meeting with the cine actor on social media platform “X” (formerly Twitter). In one picture, he is seen hugging Rajinikanth.
Sharing this picture, the former chief minister wrote, “When hearts meet, people embrace. During my engineering studies in Mysore, the joy I felt watching Rajinikanth on screen is still intact. We met in person nine years ago and have been friends ever since…” Rajinikanth arrived in Lucknow on Friday in connection with the promotion of his film ‘Jailor’, which released in theaters on August 10. On Saturday, he met Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and took his blessings by touching his feet. Earlier on Saturday afternoon, he watched his film ‘Jailor’ along with Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya at a mall located on Shaheed Path here.
