New Delhi. Another controversy is coming up in Asia Cup 2023. The Pakistan Cricket Board got the hosting rights for the tournament but the BCCI had made it clear last year that it would not send its team to them. There was an uproar when the Asian Cricket Council made Sri Lanka the host of the tournament along with Pakistan. Pakistan got to host only 4 matches while Sri Lanka got 9 matches.
The Pakistan Cricket Board is in turmoil for one reason or another. Controversy arose over the hosting of the Asia Cup, when India had already made it clear that their team would not travel to Pakistan to play. The Asian Cricket Council, at the request of the rest of the country’s teams, agreed to host the tournament in Sri Lanka along with Pakistan. The PCB could not digest this, but it had nothing in hand.
Now PCB Chairman Zaka Ashraf has done an act which is being discussed everywhere. According to reports, the PCB chief has sought compensation from ACC i.e. Asian Cricket Council for low ticket sales in the match played between India and Nepal. It is being said that Jai Shah, who is also the chairman of ACC, has demanded the loss money. A mail has been sent to the ACC on behalf of the PCB, asking for compensation for the loss due to low ticket sales.
