Everyone was waiting for the return of Indian star fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah in the India vs Ireland series. Bumrah was away from cricket for the last 11 months due to injury. It is not easy for any player to come back after such a long break, but Bumrah’s dream came back. Apart from him there was one more player who returned to the team after 1293. The player could not do anything special in the first T20 against Ireland, but he certainly created a record. This is the record for most non-matches in T20 cricket. However, he missed out on breaking Sanju Samson’s record.
Bumrah makes unique history as T20I captain, joins Dhoni and Sehwag’s formidable club
This player is none other than Shivam Dubey. Dubey, who made his T20 debut for the Indian team in 2019, entered Team India after missing 1293 days and 70 matches. He played the last T20 for India on 2 February 2020 against New Zealand. His performance in the blue jersey was nothing special which led to him being dropped. However, in IPL 2023, he once again made a place in Team India with a storming batting for the MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings.
Shoaib Akhtar made an absurd statement on Virat Kohli’s retirement, now Sourav Ganguly stops his bid
Dubey has now reached the second spot with 70 matches as the player who returned to T20 cricket after missing the most matches for India. While Sanju Samson is on top of this list with 73 matches. Had Dubey not been selected for this series as well, he would have surely equaled Samson’s record.

Shivam Dubey – 70*
Umesh Yadav – 65
R Ashwin – 65
Dinesh Karthik – 56
