Slow pitches…snake terror, is Sri Lanka ready for Asia Cup matches?

New Delhi. Pakistan may host the Asia Cup 2023, although most of its matches will be played in Sri Lanka. Currently, the matches of Lanka Premier League 2023 (LPL 2023) are being played in Sri Lanka. During this time many matches were played in Colombo and Kandy. But the results were not impressive. There is also a snake menace inside the stadium, raising the question whether Sri Lanka is really ready to host the Asia Cup.

9 matches of Asia Cup including the final will be played in Sri Lanka. The Indian cricket team will play all its matches in Sri Lanka. The BCCI refused to send its team to Pakistan, after which it was decided to hold some of the Asia Cup matches in Sri Lanka. During the LPL, seeing the Sri Lankan wicket has raised concerns. Seeing the slow pitch, Jayasuriya got angry
Sri Lanka’s pitches have already deteriorated. The final match of the Asia Cup will be played in Colombo. In the last 3 days, 2 Lanka Premier League matches were played in Colombo, in which less than 100 were scored. The mark of 200 has been crossed in just one match. Even a score of 180 was rarely seen. Veteran all-rounder Sanath Jayasuriya has also raised questions about Sri Lanka’s pitches. Former Sri Lankan explosive opener Jayasuriya is disappointed to see such pitches in the country.

Narrow Escape Isru Udana
People are already worried about Sri Lanka’s slow wicket. Apart from this the snake is also an issue which was seen inside the stadium 3 times during the Lankan Premier League matches. Sri Lankan cricketer Isru Udana survived while fielding. He was about to step on the snake when suddenly his eyes fell on it and he saved himself in time. The Asia Cup will be organized from August 30. 6 Asian teams will participate in this tournament. Indian team’s veteran off-spinner R Ashwin has also said that we are creating many things where wild animals live. Sri Lanka is surrounded by forests anyway.
