Even after dating, the relationship did not lead to marriage
In a conversation with Humans of Bombay, Sushmita Sen spoke about her decision to adopt her daughters and the difficulties she faced. Sushmita also said that she never wants any of their relationships to get buried under the burden of her responsibilities. This is the reason why even after linking his name with many people, none of his relationships could lead to marriage. However, during the Miss Universe pageant, she visited several orphanages and during this time spent time with the children, which sparked her desire to become a mother.
A different relationship was forming between the children and me.
Sushmita said, ‘When I went to the orphanage, I saw that someone wanted to be a mother and that a child needed a mother the most. This was a time in my life when a different relationship was forming between me and these children. That’s when I decided I was ready to be a mother.
The mother was against the adoption of the daughter, but the father supported it
Sushmita further said, ‘When she decided to adopt the child, her mother Subhara was against her decision. Her mother said that she herself is still a child and how can she take on such huge responsibilities at such a young age, but Sushmita was fully respected by her father Shubir Sen for her decision and supported her daughter.
The father had written half the property in the name of Reena
Sushmita continued, ‘When her mother was refusing to adopt her daughter, my father was laughing, I didn’t know why he was doing this, but yes he was sure about it. That was the time when the court gave me the custody of Renee and my father was with me at that time. All this would never have been possible without them. My father bequeathed half of his property to Rene. I am proud of his decision.
