New Delhi. All has not gone well for the Indian team in the Asia Cup so far. In the first match against Pakistan, rain spoiled the match. The match had to be abandoned and Team India was forced to share 1-1 points. Rain also spoiled the second match of the Asia Cup against Nepal and the match had to be reduced to overs. Something similar is going to happen in the Super 4 for Team India.
Super 4 matches of Asia Cup hosted by Sri Lanka and Pakistan have started. Pakistan team played their first match at home against Bangladesh. The remaining matches of Super 4 are to be played in Sri Lanka. There was a lot of talk about these matches but eventually the Asian Cricket Council decided not to take away the hosting of the match from Colombo. Hambantota and Dambulla were the frontrunners in the race to host the match but after that it was agreed not to shift the matches.
Threat on India’s Super 4 match
In the Asia Cup, the Indian team will play in Super 4 with the remaining three teams. Team India will face Pakistan, Sri Lanka and then Bangladesh. India has to participate in these three matches in 6 days. The matches will be played against Pakistan on September 10, hosts Sri Lanka on September 12 and Bangladesh on September 15.
Three matches may be cancelled
The Super 4 match of the Asia Cup is scheduled to be held in Colombo, Sri Lanka where it has been raining heavily for the past few days. Talking about rain in India match, there is 80 to 90 percent chance of rain in India-Pakistan match. There is a 70 percent chance of rain on the match day against Sri Lanka. There is a 60 percent chance of rain in the match against Bangladesh. This is not appropriate for the Indian team. If 1-1 points have to be shared in every match then it will be difficult to reach the final.
