The government did not consider Fazil’s degree equivalent to MA-B.Ed.

Jharkhand TGT Teacher: The Department of School Education and Literacy has rejected Fazil’s claim that the title is equivalent to MA-BEd. The final priority list has been released after resolving the objections to the provisional priority list of graduate trained teachers of the state. Director of Secondary Education Sunil Kumar has issued the order.

After the formation of the state of Jharkhand, a provisional priority list of graduate teachers who completed 18 years of general category and 15 years of scheduled caste and scheduled tribe was issued for promotion to the post of head teacher. Objection was also taken from the teachers regarding this. In which it was claimed by the teachers that Fazil’s degree has been treated as equivalent to MA-Bed. The Bihar Stated Secondary Schools (Condition of Service) Rules, 1983 provide that such teachers shall be untrained by the Principal, Fazil and M.A.-Hons in Sanskrit, Persian, Arabic by a recognized University or Board-Committee recognized by the State Government. In such case, the objecting teachers do not fulfill the prescribed qualifications of Jharkhand Government Secondary School Teaching and Non-Teaching Staff Recruitment and Conditions of Service Rules. Education department has released final merit list of 130 teachers for graduate trained teachers for the post of principal.
