Speaking to ANI, Subhash Ghai said, ‘After the failure of Trimurti we thought of making a short film and finally ‘Pardes’ came to fruition. When the Shah Rukh Khan starrer released in 1997, it did wonders at the box office. The worldwide collection of the film crossed 40 crores. Made on a budget of 8 crores, Pardes grossed Rs. 34.75 crores and its worldwide collection stood at Rs. 40.82 crore, according to Saknilk’s report.
