Unmarried pregnant daughter killed by parents who refused to implicate boyfriend in rape case: Police

According to the official, the murder was committed because the woman refused to record her statement in court against her boyfriend Rahul.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Sanjeev Suman told reporters that a case of murder has been registered against Bijendra and Kusum and they have been arrested.

According to Suman, the police reached the spot on receiving information about the girl’s disappearance and questioned the parents.

According to the SP, during interrogation the parents confessed that they had strangled their daughter and then dumped her body in a nearby river.

Suman said that on the request of the accused, the girl’s body was recovered and sent for postmortem.

According to the police, the girl had eloped with her boyfriend Rahul, who lives in the village, a year ago. He said that the police had registered a case of kidnapping and rape against Rahul after recovering the girl from his possession. Rahul is currently in jail. August 26 was fixed in court for the deposition in the kidnapping case.

According to the police, the parents asked the girl to record her statement in support of the abduction case, but she refused to record the statement against Rahul, following which the enraged parents allegedly killed her.
