New Delhi:

A few days after the successful landing of Chandrayaan-3 on the moon, the Vikram lander has again made a ‘soft landing’ on the lunar surface. ISRO has once again soft-landed Chandrayaan-3’s ‘Vikram’ lander on the lunar surface. Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) said, “Vikram Lander has surpassed Chandrayaan-3 mission objectives and successfully completed the ‘Hope Experiment’.”

ISRO said, “On receiving the command, ‘Vikram’ ‘fired’ the engines, projected to lift itself up to about 40 cm and landed safely at a forward distance of 30-40 cm.”

On the soft landing of the ‘Vikram’ lander once again on the moon, ISRO said the process raised hopes of future ‘sample’ return and manned missions to the moon.

Earlier, ISRO had said that Chandrayaan-3’s rover ‘Pragyan’ has completed its work on the lunar surface and has now gone into a dormant (sleep mode) mode. Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) gave this information on Saturday. Hours earlier, ISRO chief S Somnath had said that the rover and lander of Chandrayaan-3 sent to the moon are working properly and will be ‘deactivated’ as it becomes night on the moon.

ISRO said in a post, “The rover has completed its mission. It is now safely ‘parked’ and set to sleep mode. APXS and LIBS ‘payloads’ are switched off. Data from these payloads are transmitted to Earth by the lander. is.”

The space agency said the rover’s batteries are now fully charged and its solar panels are oriented to receive light at the moon’s next expected sunrise on September 22, 2023.
