A bus carrying 35 passengers lost control and plunged into a valley in Uttarakhand’s Uttarkashi city on Sunday, killing seven people. Rescue workers pulled out 27 passengers from the damaged bus which fell several feet down the road. Rescuers cut the rolled parts of the bus as a passenger is trapped behind it. The bus was going from Gangotri to Uttarkashi. All the passengers came from Gujarat.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said in a post on X (earlier Twitter) that he has asked officials to ensure speedy relief and rescue and make proper arrangements for treatment of the injured. He wrote that there was a very painful news of several people losing their lives due to the accident of a bus going from Gangotri to Uttarkashi in Gangnani. The administration has been directed to carry out speedy relief and rescue operations and ensure proper arrangements for treatment of the injured. May God rest the departed souls and give strength to the bereaved family members to bear this loss. I wish all the injured a speedy recovery.
