The first match of the three-match T20 series between India and Ireland was played on Friday night. Team India has won this match by 2 runs with the help of DLS to take a 1-0 lead in the series. In this match, the Indian team set many records, but during the match, there was a lack of synergy between the pair of Yashwi Jaiswal and Rituraj Gaikwad. Opening the innings for the first time for India, there was a lack of synergy between the pair in an attempt to steal a run, which led to both players running out at one end. However, this did not hurt the team and both the batsmen were able to reach their respective ends thanks to errors by Ireland’s fielders.
The incident happened in the second over of the Indian innings. Yashaswi Jaiswal runs in to steal a single off Joshua Little’s third ball. Rituraj Gaekwad also ran from the non-striker end. But when Gaikwad saw that the ball was heading straight for the fielder, he refused to take the run, but by then Yashaswi had covered more than half the distance and both players started running towards the same end.
However, both were saved by a poor throw from the Irish fielder. In such a situation, Gaikwad once again saved his wicket by running and diving at the other end.
