What is the difference between nominee and successor? Who owns the money or sum insured in a bank account after the death of the account holder?

Being a nominee does not mean that person becomes the owner of the money or sum assured in that bank account. If the bank account holder has not executed a will, the amount will be distributed equally among all the legal heirs.
