But, according to Sacnilk, the film could only collect Rs 392.7 crore at the box office. In such a situation, the makers have suffered a loss of Rs 157.3 crore and the film has flopped.

Makers had to go underground
The film starring Prabhas, Kriti Sanon and Saif Ali Khan was mired in controversies. Based on the Ramayana, the dialogues and scenes of the film started a controversy. Some people were demanding to reform the film while some were suggesting to ban the film. Not only this, several cases were also filed in various courts against producer, director Om Raut and dialogue writer Manoj Muntashir for hurting religious sentiments. As such, director Om Raut and others went underground, away from the public eye, for several weeks after the film’s release.
