Ishan Kishan performed brilliantly against Pakistan.
KL Rahul can make a comeback against Pakistan.
New Delhi, everyone is eagerly waiting for the big match between India and Pakistan (IND vs PAK). Rain broke the hearts of the fans in the thrilling match played on September 2. That match saw all the flops from Rohit Sharma to Virat Kohli. But there came two batsmen who stood strong against Pakistan’s pace attack. One of them was Ishan Kishan. But now till September 10, clouds of danger are hovering over this batsman’s place.
Let us tell you that KL Rahul was not present in the match against Pakistan and Nepal due to injury. After which it was decided to drop Ishan Kishan at number 5. The young batsman scored a valuable half-century by hitting fours on the spot. He was supported by vice-captain Hardik Pandya who scored a brilliant half-century. But now, once again facing arch-rivals Pakistan, Ishan Kishan’s place is said to be under threat. Not us but former cricketer Mohammad Kaif says so. He has made it clear that the coach will prefer KL Rahul to bat at number 5 instead of Ishan Kishan.
Rahul has good numbers at number 5- Mohammad Kaif
Speaking on the issue on Star Sports, Kaif said, ‘Rahul Dravid will know that Rahul and Iyer are the backbone of the middle order and they will need playing time. Ishaan played really well and that is good because there is healthy competition in the team. However, if an in-form player sits out, it won’t be a problem as Dravid wants to see KL Rahul batting at No.5. Because he has good numbers on 5th number. You want him and Iyer to get playing time and have similar form when they play their first match against Australia in the World Cup.
The biggest challenge for India’s top order will be Pakistan’s star fast bowler Shaheen Afridi. Afridi made both Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma victims of his deadly bowling. After which the Indian team was under a lot of pressure. Now these two batsmen have to make a plan to play against Afridi on 10th September.
