The head of the Spanish Football Federation kissed Hermoso on the lips during the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 awards ceremony. Controversy arose. The game is considered unfair behavior.

This ‘action’ of Rubiales has caused some disturbance in the celebration of Spain’s title victory. This incident has also had deep repercussions in Spain. The Spanish government also condemned Rubiales’ behavior. Spain’s acting sports minister Mikel Iqueta said, “It is not acceptable to kiss a player on the lips to congratulate him.” Another Spanish minister, Mikel Aceta, also condemned the head of his football federation for the Spanish act. “This is a form of sexual harassment that women face all the time,” she wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
