BCCI president Roger Binny has made a big statement regarding the visit to Pakistan
Binny said he would talk to PCB officials during this visit.
New Delhi. Will there be a bilateral series between India and Pakistan soon? The question is being raised because Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) President Roger Binny will visit Pakistan during the Asia Cup 2023 and during this he will meet PCB officials. In such a situation, a bilateral series can be discussed. BCCI president Binny himself has confirmed this. He has said that he will interact with Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) officials during his visit to Pakistan. However, he did not reveal the topics to be discussed. But, it remains to be seen whether the IND vs PAK cricket relationship will be restored amidst the bad diplomatic relations.
BCCI president Roger Binny told news agency ANI, “My last visit to Pakistan was in 2006, when Pakistanis were very interested in Indian cricket and cinema. I am going to speak to the Pakistan Cricket Board on behalf of the BCCI.” Besides Roger Binny, BCCI Vice-President Rajiv Shukla will also visit Pakistan. Both were invited by the PCB to visit Pakistan as members of the Asian Cricket Council. Binny and Rajiv Shukla will return to India on September 7.
Apart from the India-Pakistan bilateral cricket series, the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 may also be discussed during Binny’s visit to Pakistan. This tournament is going to be organized by Pakistan. But the way BCCI refused to send Indian team to Pakistan for Asia Cup 2023, will it be the same after 2 years? Because BCCI’s stand is clear that the Indian team will not go to Pakistan. But PCB officials may take up the matter with Binny after the Asia Cup controversy.
Let it be known that the last time a bilateral series was played between India and Pakistan was in 2012-13. Then the Pakistan team toured India. After this India-Pakistan will fight only in ICC tournaments.
